Thornton fans, players, parents, and alumni breathed a huge sigh of relief this Thanksgiving as the IHSA approved the transfers of basketball standouts Brandon Long, and Mustapha Farrakhan. The IHSA ruled in favor of these players just in time for them to begin their season of high expectations. As they are ranked number 2 according to MidState Hoops Preseason Top 25 Rankings. They are favored by many to make it downsate and content for the state championship. Brandon Long averaged 17 points for Rich Central a year ago, while Mustapha Farrakhan was varsity standout for Crete-Monee. Believe the Thornton community is counting their blessings this holiday season.
