And 1 Basketball Championship Midwest II Region Tournament

The And 1 Basketball Championship Midwest II Region is loaded with top prospects. The tournament is all set and ready to go at the Westwood Sports Complex in Sterling, Illinois. Starting on June 17, it concludes on June 18 with the winner earning a National Championship bid in Philadelphia June 24-26.

Illinois is strongly represented in this region. Some of the state's top prospects are expected to compete. These include Aaron Johnson of Hubbard, Devan Bawinkel of Winnebago, and Patrick Beverly of Marshall. The duo of Robert Eppinger and Branden Fisher will also be there as they lead their Rockford Jefferson Squad. Look for Mike Relerford to assert himself in the offense for the Jayhawks as well.

The Leo Lions will be splitting their roster this weekend. Star post player Don Lawson is expected to play. Darreon Ingram of Curie and Grant Monroe of Schaumburg will be big parts of their teams success this year and hope to make good showings. Anthony Brown of Springfield Lanphier and George Guorard of Danville are two of the sleeper stars to watch in this tournament.

Look for unheralded sophomores-James Massie, Justin Hightower, Colin Reuben, Derrick Middleton, and Antonio Lofton to make a few headlines.
