Trey Blue: Player Journal 7
August 17, 2005
What's up everybody,
I would like to start this journal entry off by thanking God, for both of my parents, Horace & Billye, my sister, Krystal, my cousin, Viveca, and all my family members.
I also would like to thank Tai Streets and Carlton DeBose for giving me the opportunity to showcase my talent on a national level this past summer. They've both showed me things outside of basketball that will help me in life. I'm really looking forward to actually being coached by them next summer. And also a what's up to Coach Denard Eaves!
Well...the summer is over and High School ball is what everybody's talking about now. As you all know by now, Coach Loren Jackson will be leaving Chicago Julian to start Chicago Boys To Men Math & English Academy. I will not be attending the academy. Since that happened, I've played no summer league games, had no team work outs, I don't even know who the coach will be! Me and the team have been trying to wait it out but it is getting too late. With that being said, I will be attending Thornwood High School.
My first day of school was today, August 17, and it was pretty fun. I got to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. All of my teachers are pretty cool, except one, who is a little weird. We should bring a nice team to the table. I don't want to let out all the secrets but I believe Coach Curran will get us ready this year. This school year and season should be really fun.
I have been getting lots and lots of individual work in on my own time. I've been lifting 4 times a week while getting my drill and skill work in as well. About 400 shots a night outside with my mom and ball handling drills every chance I get. We'll be starting practice at 6:00AM pretty soon so I want to be good and ready.
I feel my recruitment is going very well. Thank MidStateHoops.com for doing a great job running their site and giving you an in-depth look at everyone's schools of interest. Then University of Arizona has also recently been in contact along with the University of Clemson.
To everyone who asks, "Well, why did you go here and there, and why did you do this and that". I am a child of God and what He has planned for me is already decided. There is a reason for everything and I believe He has helped me in every way possible.
I want to give a special shout out to my parents to let them know I appreciate all they do for me.
I'll be back soon,
Trey Blue
P.S. To all my friends I met over the year at Julian, stay cool and I will make sure I get back to kick it with all of y'all.
